Festival to Feature Award-Winning Film at Opening Party
The North Jersey Fiber Arts Festival is pleased to announce the only area showing of YARN, an amazing documentary which illustrates the ways in which contemporary artists are stretching the boundaries of the fiber arts and using yarn in ways that defy convention. Have you heard of “yarn-bombing”? This is just one of the featured art forms. Clearly, this film is not about your grandma’s knitting projects. According to the director, YARN “is a poetic documentary that introduces us to four characters from different countries who use yarn in different ways.” In this film, you will “meet the artists who are redefining the tradition of knit and crochet, bringing yarn out of the house and into the world.”
The Preview Party provides an opportunity for a small group to view & buy ‘first’ from our fantastic vendors before the festival officially starts. Admission to the Preview Party is $18.00. In addition to admission to the screening of YARN, this ticket price includes refreshments (food, beverages and dessert), advance access to the vendors, and free admission to the Festival on Friday and Saturday.
